My son took such a cool picture of me in my #bhlhannah on a very windy day. He’ll be 8 next month and I just can’t believe it. 🌬
.
This dress is great for layering. Worn over a #nikkotop in this photo.
.
Dress fabric is a cotton shirting from @minervadotcom
.
#hannahdress #byhandlondon #truebiaspatterns #lovemylottas
My yellow #dawnjeans that are slightly too big on me now look pretty good with a belt I think. Why haven’t I tried this? I just very rarely think to wear a belt with my jeans.
.
A story recently shared by @slowintention gave me this idea. She’s thinking about making oversized dawns, and she should don’t you think? I’d love to see, and thanks for the inspo! I’m excited about these getting more wear.

Here is my #vintagemccalls5612 without the waist tie. I used the tiniest scraps to squeeze out a narrow matching tie, but looking at this photo I really like it hanging loose like this. It definitely has nightgown vibes but I think that’s part of the charm of this vintage pattern.
.
Swipe to see a simple slip skirt made from some white tissue linen scraps. This thrifted gingham was pretty sheer but I won’t let that stop me from wearing it. I don’t have a simple slip dress which seems crazy now! A nude colored one would be nice to have. I also used some scraps to add a large patch pocket. 🌿

I’m having the most difficult time photographing this very pretty cotton with the tiniest green houndstooth print from @minervadotcom. Do you recognize this pattern? It’s the new #hannahwrapdress from By Hand London and it’s really cute. I’ve been sewing a LOT of green lately.
.
Let me know if you have any tips on capturing adorably tiny prints such as this. All I have is an iPhone and I’m trying. 🤷‍♀️ This fabric is so cute in person. 💚
My second #ranunculussweater, this time in cream dk merino wool. All I gotta do is not stain it. 🙄

Hey there! Happy Monday! 🌝
.
I just posted a blog on how I made two #athinatop hacks. This here is a ponte knit version. It’s the simplest hack but why not provide fellow sewers with some light reading? 📚🤗
.
Ponte is black summer ponte from @joann_stores. Also wearing my new #bobpants (or should I say fancy pj pants😉)
.

Some thoughts on a need to feel unique... These two sewing patterns are *so* unique which satisfies my sewing brain no end. This #kabukitee is made using #thriftedfabric (🎉) and the #bobpants in #bfdoublegauze 🧡
.
Someone commented on my previous photo sharing these makes that I looked “weird” and I must say, *weird* is totally my happy place. Actually, I don’t think my wardrobe is *weird* enough. Sewing is a beautiful way to satisfy that need for uniqueness in many of us. Truthfully, I’m constantly struggling between wanting to fit in and needing to present myself as the unique individual that I am. Can you tell that I may be an #enneagram4 ? Maybe...
.
I finally got a blog up about these #memades if you’re interested. Link to my site is in my bio. Also, swipe to see this styled with my #wikstenhaori
Hiya! I hacked the #athinatop and made this very fall-friendly flannel goodie. It came out of its first washing so comfortable and soft.🍁
.
We’re packing and getting ready for a trip to a cooler climate than we’re used to so I made sure to make a couple of quick layering pieces. I was born in L.A. and am a HUGE wimp basically in any temp below 75 so wish me luck.
.
All three of my kids got new puffer coats specifically for this trip too! Haha. Because they literally never need warm coats! And because they take after their mama. 😉

    Russian Regina Dress Review

    October 22, 2019 /

I am finally getting around to writing about a dress I made several weeks ago. The trickiest part in sewing the Regina Dress by Viki Sews is that the directions were completely in Russian! I didn’t let that stop me, though. I hope to share some tips that could help you along if you plan on trying this pattern out yourself...
